Beef Stroganoff

I make a mean beef stroganoff. It's one of my husband's favorite dishes. He likes beef. I patterned my recipe from Jack's Loft. Although it sounds gourmet. it's actually easy enough to make any day of the week.

  • 1/4 kg sirloin strips
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce or Maggi Savor
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 small/medium onion (minced)
  • 1 small red bell pepper (thinly-sliced)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4 -5 Tbsp of all-purpose cream
  •  1/2 can of button mushrooms
  • salt and pepper
I have seasoned the beef strips with a dash of salt and pepper. Then in a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and saute the onions. Next, cook the beef and let it brown from each side. Add the button mushrooms and half a cup of water. Let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes. Add the cream and red bell pepper strips. Let it simmer for another 5 minutes. Serve over egg noodles or hot rice.
