Chaturanga Dandasana

Chaturanga Dandasana (four-limbed staff pose), a pose that is part of the Sun Salutation sequence that is often practiced during Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Power Yoga classes.

It's like a push-up. This pose strengthens the arms and wrists while tones the abdomen. It is a highly delicate and quite challenging pose to perform at first until your arms, back and legs are strong to support you.

I'm still struggling with this pose but happy to share that I have already developed a bit of an arm strength. Yay! Attending Vinyasa classes regularly and/or continuously practicing at home is starting to payoff. At last, progress! Having a really good perhaps thicker mat helps to aid your practice too! This is for added support and provide cushioning between us and the hard studio floors.

Namaste!
